A Parent's Guide to Supported Accommodation

If your child is being referred to supported accommodation, you probably have a lot of questions. This guide explains what to expect and how we will keep you informed.

Finding out that your child may be moving into supported accommodation can bring up a lot of emotions — worry, uncertainty, and perhaps relief that they will be getting help. At Winners of Tomorrow, we want to reassure families that your young person will be in safe hands.

What is supported accommodation?

Supported accommodation is not a care home or a hostel. It is a real home — safe, clean and furnished — where your young person has their own space and receives regular support from a dedicated Key Worker. The aim is always independence, not dependence.

Will I be kept informed?

With the young person's consent, we can keep family members updated on their progress and wellbeing. We encourage positive family relationships where they are safe and beneficial for the young person.

What support will my child receive?

• A named Key Worker who meets with them regularly
• A personalised Support Plan built around their goals
• Help with education, employment and life skills
• Access to mental health and wellbeing support
• 24/7 on-call support for genuine emergencies

If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at info@winnersoftomorrow.co.uk or call 07570 605247.
